Pastor Brad Nelson has been a massive influence on my life through his teachings. He has an amazing way of bring stories to life through his words and then being able to apply those old stories to current situations. I have been blessed through this book and the way Life Parables relates to me everyday.
Life Parables is a great book that sheds light on what God is trying to teach us through everyday circumstances. Brad opens up and shares some person events in his life that God used to teach him more about who he is and who God is. Brad shows us how God wants to teach us things through circumstances and events that many times we don't give a second thought to. I personally recommend this book without reservation. You will not be disappointed with it!
Brad really knows how to write well so that you can relate to the everyday stories from his life, see how they apply to growing deeper with God and realize God is working in your life too. He is a great story teller and teacher.
I just had the opportunity to read "Life Parables" by Brad Nelson. Life Parables is a series of small glimpses he experienced in his life. Real stories loaded with symbolism and meaning. His writing style brilliantly managed to draw me into his surroundings and situation. I couldn't help but find myself comparing like situations, where I unfortunately gleaned little to no meaning. Brad showed me God is in the details--yes even the small ones. After reviewing and completing the timely questions at the end of each chapter, I considered the blessings one could find using this resource in daily devotions, in a Bible study or teen group. I personally find it valuable and recommend his scholarship.
I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it for anyone that would like to learn more about the parables of Jesus through the use of real life practical application. Brad not only provides entertainment for the spirit but also food for the soul; he shares personal experiences as well as solid biblical interpretation of the parables that he touches upon.
Brad was a guest speaker for several years at our church's Bible Conference and he had shared some of what's in this book during some of those sermons. It brought back fond memories; his style of writing is just as captivating as his preaching. I'm certain that I'll read it a second time with highlighter in hand. It's a thought provoking book that challenges the reader with questions designed to draw the them into a closer relationship with Christ. A great book that would be an excellent stocking stuffer for this upcoming Christmas season.
